While there is no single correct way to develop and implement Student Learning Outcomes, there is also no need to reinvent the wheel. Columbia College has developed college-wide SLO's and has a need to address the accreditation requirements with consistent tracking and analysis. However, each faculty, staff and administrative member has the opportunity to create, implement and evaluate Student Learning Outcomes that best fit the needs of their area and the students with whom they interact. This webpage will share examples of how SLO's are being used both at Columbia and at other colleges. Some examples are at the course level while others are at the level of a program or service. As additional models are developed here at Columbia they may be added to this page. If you would like to share a model you find successful, please contact any member of the SLO Workgroup to share that information. Please note - these models are chosen for their variety of styles, there are many other SLOs created for courses, programs and services at Columbia College and they may be viewed by contacting the SLO Workgroup.
