As We Reach Out Into the Community...
|
As Columbia moves into the 21st century, it has unprecedented opportunities. In collaboration with partners in our communities, it has the potential to play a leading role in meeting the learning requirements of those in the two counties it serves. With Educational Programs and Services... Columbia College is recognized not only for its outstanding geographical environment, but for the small size of its student body, a unique quality that allows for personalized education and a sense of fulfillment for its employees. To maintain that standard for the future, we must continue to improve. Increased use of alternative scheduling, unique programs to meet community needs and a strong focus on job training through local partnership will create a broad array of programs with varied techniques. By taking advantage of its unique physical environment, the College is a leader in such programs as management of natural resources and geographic information systems. Students realize excellent job placement as a result of our unique programs. General education and an increasingly interdisciplinary liberal arts program will also provide a balance between job training and transfer education. |

We Partner with the Community and Region |
| As alliances are built with local high schools and other agencies in the area, Columbia College is building strong ties to the economic development of the region. The Job Connection Center, has helped to improve programs and provides services for many low income and disadvantaged students who might not otherwise be able to attend college. Through this partnership, Columbia College staff have the opportunity to quickly respond to community and students needs. Other partnership include: |
